Clermont Real Estate Community Information
Clearmont is a city located in both Lake County and Polk County, Florida, within the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Area, about 25 miles west of downtown Orlando. Clermont is situated approximately 36 miles northwest of Orlando International Airport, and just 25 miles from Walt Disney World. Clermont lies about 25 miles from Universal Orlando and about 30 miles from SeaWorld Orlando. Known for its southern region’s tourist communities, locals often reside in the north of the city of Clermont, home to the impressively tall Florida Citrus Tower, which rises into the air 226 feet, first constructed in 1956. There are only about 31,000 residents in the community, although the city was first incorporated in 1916.

Clermont boasts a historic downtown district, one which has seen very little change since its development beginning in 1962. The city offers much in the way of charm and housing is diverse, with prices ranging from the low to mid $100’s to the high $300’s and up into the low $400’s, with a median home value of approximately $228,000.
Like much of Florida, there are plenty of outdoor recreational opportunities readily available in Clermont, such as the Palatlakaha River Park and Boat Ramp, Lake Louisa State Park, and Lake Hiawatha Preserve. The city is a wonderful place for families, having plenty of kid friendly playgrounds and activities. Clermont is also home to Legends Golf and Country Club, and borders Lake Minneola, Lake Minnehaha, and is a short drive from the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge.
There are a total of nine elementary schools serving the city of Clermont, three middle schools, and three high schools. Higher education institutions include campuses from Lake-Sumter State College and the University of Central Florida.
